BEIJING – The second China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) will take place from Tuesday to Saturday in Beijing, bringing together industry leaders, experts, and innovators from around the world to promote global cooperation in industrial and supply chains. The expo, the world’s first national-level exhibition focused on supply chains, aims to connect the world and foster a shared future for the industry.

Wider Participation and International Presence

This year’s expo, themed “Connecting the World for a Shared Future,” will feature over 600 companies, a 20% increase from the first edition in 2023, according to the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). International participation will also rise, with foreign exhibitors accounting for 32% of total participants, up from 26% last year. Notably, US companies will have the largest share of foreign exhibitors, followed by increased representation from Europe and Japan. Companies from Belt and Road initiative countries will make up 40% of the foreign exhibitors. In an effort to promote cooperation with developing countries, China has invited numerous African enterprises and will provide free booths for them to showcase their products.

The opening ceremony on Tuesday is expected to attract over 1,000 global representatives, including political figures and business elites, with an estimated 200,000 professional visitors over the course of the event.

Showcasing Innovation Across Industries

Global industry giants will present their cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions in supply chains at the expo. Companies such as Maersk, Sumitomo Electric, Siemens, China Resources, and Honeywell will showcase products in areas like industrial automation, environmental protection, and carbon reduction. Rio Tinto, Bosch, Baowu Steel, and XPENG will display advancements in the smart vehicle sector.

A key addition to this year’s event is a new exhibition area dedicated to advanced manufacturing. This area will focus on four main categories: R&D and design, new materials applications, key components and processing, and intelligent manufacturing and high-end equipment. The expo will also feature established areas such as clean energy, digital technology, and green agriculture.

Hungary will serve as the guest country of honor, showcasing its leading industries, resources, and cultural heritage through its dedicated pavilion.

Fostering Global Cooperation

The expo will facilitate global cooperation and dialogue on supply chain integration. With a growing focus on industrial transformation and international expansion, experts such as David Xu, president of Bosch China, have emphasized the significance of CISCE in addressing both opportunities and challenges. Li Zheng, chief strategy officer of WOLQE, highlighted the event’s role in strengthening global communication and collaboration across the supply chain.

During the expo, seven thematic events will be held, with over 300 activities including business negotiations, breakfast meetings, and more. A new Beijing initiative aimed at promoting stable global supply chains will also be unveiled, alongside a flagship report analyzing new supply chain trends across key industries such as humanoid robots, smart cars, and integrated circuits.

Two new indices will also be launched to provide valuable insights for governments and businesses on global supply chain development trends and risks.

With its expanded participation, new exhibitions, and focus on global cooperation, the second China International Supply Chain Expo is set to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of international supply chains.
