China’s National Forestry and Grassland Administration (NFGA) announced on Thursday that China and the US have agreed to establish a cooperation mechanism covering national parks.
In a video conference between NFGA and the US National Park Service, both countries discussed recent progress in constructing nature reserves and national park systems, exchanging information and expressing the intention to strengthen cooperation in building national parks.
The cooperation will include key exchanges on national park legislation, law enforcement, environmental education, and volunteer services. The renewed collaboration coincides with the normalization of bilateral ties, following the Xi-Biden summit in San Francisco.
